Notes
Park Species Detail: Synonym = Artemisia vaseyana, Artemisia tridentata ssp. vaseyana. The most abundant shrub of the foothills of this Park Unit, followed by Artemisia arbuscula. Most references to "Artemisia tridentata" refer to A. t. var. wyomingensis on the Snake River Plain areas and low elevations, and to A. t. vaseyana in the foothills. Habitat in this Park Unit = Generally restricted to foothills in and near the North Unit; may include Huff Creek meadows and Laidlaw Park areas. Original data for this Park-Name Profile record were derived and entered by Steve J. Popovich, based upon a preponderance of evidence and the best scientific and commercial data available, including all specimen verifications by, and personal knowledge of project, park, and regional experts. Regional floral manuals used included: Intermountain Flora - Vascular Plants of the Intermountain West (1972-2005), A Utah Flora (2003), Flora of the Pacific Northwest (1973), Flora of North America (1993-2006), The Cruciferae of Continental North America (1993), various botanical monographs, Western U.S. floras, and other botanical works such as Weeds of the West (1996), USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service PLANTS database, and Natural Heritage Program, Idaho Conservation Data Center Element Occurrence database., Park Species Data Source: Original data derived by Steve J. Popovich 1999-2007 based upon a preponderance of evidence and the best scientific and commercial data available, University of Idaho Contract P.O. No. P0011391. Legacy NPSpecies information may no longer be applicable, please remove if it is not applicable. In legacy NPSpecies Management priority value was No with comment: This still common (dominant in North Unit) native taxon could potentially decline in CRMO due to wildfire and invasion of annual weeds (rangeland conversion), and is a noteworthy vegetation resource value of the native ecosystem.
