Purpose of Scientific Study or Science Education Activity during the reporting year:
OBJECTIVES: The goal of this project is to assist recovery of Spectaclecase through increased understanding of the movement of their host fish (Hiodon spp.) within the SACN and adjacent UMR. Our specific objectives are to: (1) evaluate the most suitable methods for tracking movement of Hiodon spp. and (2) characterize the temporal and spatial movements of Hiodon spp. within the SACN and downstream into the UMR. Understanding the movements and habitat preferences of the host fish will be integral to identifying suitable reintroduction sites for Spectaclecase.
