Occurrence Notes
See Keinath 2005, Supplementary mammal inventory of Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area.; Data Source: Doug Keinath - Lead Zoologist - Wyoming Natural Diversity Database
Nativeness
Non-native
Nativeness Notes
Moose did not likely occur in Wyoming until CA 1870 (among others, see Dorn 1986). Furthermore, they were deliberately introduced to the Bighorn Mountains by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department in the 1940s. Thus, any moose ranging through BICA should be considered non-native.; Data Source: Doug Keinath - Lead Zoologist - Wyoming Natural Diversity Database
