Park Species Detail: Bowes et al. (1999) Species is usually present in most streams draining the southern half of Mount Desert Island. Recently confirmed in Aunt Betty Pond (1998, J. Le); Eagle Lake (1998, J. Le); Echo Lake (1997), Jordan Stream (April 1983), Long Pond (fall 1997), The Tarn (1998, J. Le).
Chalmers (1999): 1 5 inch eel observed under cobble at Stanley Brook (see observation)
Le (1999): 382 captured at Hunters Brook in 1998.
Farris (1992) seined from Bass Harbor Estuary during October 1990 to October 1991.
Zabinski and Olday (1975): Present in The Tarn.
Fuller and Cooper (1946) abundant in Seal Cove Pond, abundant in Echo Lake, abundant in Somes Pond, abundant in Long Pond, abundant in Upper Hadlock Pond, abundant in Jordan Pond, abundant in Eagle Lake, abundant in Bubble Pond during the summer of 1942; collected during surveys with gill nets in Long Pond and Jordan Pond during the summer of 1942.
