A casual spring and fall migrant with one record from each season. The spring record is of seven in Toroweap Valley on 30 Apr 1983 (Norman Stephan et al.). The fall record is a single bird seen at Lee’s Ferry on 27 and 31 Oct 1996 (Charles T. LaRue). The only other record is of a bird whose origins are unknown: a dead Grasshopper Sparrow found in Grand Canyon Village on 28 Jun 1941 (Mark Wisner) may have been carried into the park on a car radiator (Brown et al. 1985).
