Notes
Park Species Detail: The National Marine Fisheries Service has reviewed a petition To list Alewife and Blueback Herring as Threatened Under the Endangered Species Act, however Horwitz et al. (2008) report that records do not indicate occurrence of anadromous alewife as far up-river as the Middle or Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational Rivers. Landlocked populations of alewife inhabit reservoirs on some of the tributaries to the mainstem Delaware River, and occasionally individuals from these landlocked populations are found in the Upper or Middle Delaware Scenic and Recreational Rivers., Park Species Data Source: Horowitz et al., 2008.
