Park Species Detail: Dubuc et al. (1988) identified Alosa spp. from scat samples of River Otter. Bowes et al. (1998) recorded within ANP during 1995; historically present in at least 4 of the 21 ponds in the park on Mount Desert Island. Stocked in Long Pond (early 1960s), Echo Lake (1966), Jordan Pond (prior to 1978); Considered native (with no evidence of stocking or other introductions) to Little Long Pond, Somes Pond, and Seal Cove Pond. Recently confirmed at Echo Lake (1995) and Long Pond (July 1987; Mack and fall 1992). Fuller and Cooper (1946) common in Seal Cove Pond, common in Echo Lake, and abundant in Somes Pond during the summer of 1942., Park Species Data Source: Bowes et al. 1999; Fuller and Cooper (1946)
