Nativeness Notes
Though a biological non-native to Warren County, this species has been documented as existing within the county at the time of the Vicksburg Siege in 1863. Therefore Mimosa is considered a "cultural native", as it was present during the park's period of interpretation and contributes to a more historically accurate depiction of the cultural landscape.
It was stated as exotic in Walker's 1997 report.; Data Source: Emma Balfour letter dated 11/30/1848.
