An accidental winter visitor. The only two records for the species in the state of Arizona were found in the Grand Canyon region during the winter of 2012. Shaun Putz discovered and photographed an individual in House Rock Valley a mile north of the condor viewing site on 16 Feb 2012. This bird continued through at least 3 Mar 2012 (Brian P. Gatlin). A second individual was photographed visiting a feeder in Grand Canyon Village from 18-22 Feb 2012 (Eric Gdula). Data source: Gatlin, BP. 2011.
