Park Species Detail: Stupka (1963) cites a single park record from 1944; Robinson (1990) considers this species "extremely rare" in Tennessee; park collections house one park specimen. Species Notes: Rare Winter Resident; In Old World literature known as Gray Phalarope (AOU 1983). Combined allozyme, morphologic, and mtDNA data suggest that Wilson`s phalarope evolved shortly after the phalarope lineage itself arose and that the phalaropes are monophyletic, with the red and; ; General Notes: Stupka (1963) cites a single park record from 1944; Robinson (1990) considers this species ""extremely rare"" in Tennessee; park collections house one park specimen.
