Park Species Detail: Synonym = This Park Unit's material fits both (in part) Sitanion hystrix var. californicum, Sitanion californicum, Sitanion rigidum; and (in part) Sitanion hystrix var. hystrix, Sitanion cinereum, Sitanion hystrix. Steve Popovich and Michael Curto (Herbarium OBI) do not prefer to carry forward infraspecific assignments for material from this Park Unit. Habitat in this Park Unit = Generally occurring (or expected to occur) throughout the Park Unit, usually except at greatest elevations of the foothills. Original data for this Park-Name Profile record were derived and entered by Steve J. Popovich, based upon a preponderance of evidence and the best scientific and commercial data available, including all specimen verifications by, and personal knowledge of project, park, and regional experts.
