Six vouchers were listed in Genoways 2003 report for S. cinereus. Bogan and Ramotnik (1995) listed S.cinereus lesueurii for their work and stated that "Van Zyll de Jong and Kirkland (1989) in their study of S. cinereus and S. haydeni, referred specimens of these shrews from Cherry County to cinereus."; Data Source: Bogan & Ramotnik (1995)
