Sing males confirmed on breeding bird surveys in 2002 and 2004 (Egan 2005). During late May and early June we average about one sighting every 5-10 days (Van Buskirk and Smith 1994).; Data Source: Egan 2005. Van Buskirk and Smith 1994. Janke, Peterson, Peterson, and Lindsay 1994. Johnsson, Shelton, and Jordan 1982. Krefting, Lee, Shelton, and Gilbert 1966.

Nativeness Notes
Park is along southern edge of breeding range (Sibley 2000).; Data Source: Sibley 2000. Brewer, McPeek, and Adams 1991.
Abundance
Rare
Abundance Notes
Potentially more common than thought due to difficulty in differentiating song from the abundant V. olivaceus (Egan 2005). Regular, fairly common spring migrant and possible summer resident (Van Buskirk and Smith 1994). Rare (Janke, Peterson, Peterson, and Lindsay 1994). Rare migrant; within breeding range, but difficult to identify (Johnsson, Shelton, and Jordan 1982). This vireo visits the island only on rare occasions (Krefting, Lee, Shelton, and Gilbert 1966).; Data Source: Egan 2005. Van Buskirk and Smith 1994. Janke, Peterson, Peterson, and Lindsay 1994. Johnsson, Shelton, and Jordan 1982. Krefting, Lee, Shelton, and Gilbert 1966.
