Park Species Detail: Witt (1997) Reports this species in areas adjacent to the park (1 in Otter Coveo n 27 December 1969). Russell (1984?) Thousands seen at Seawall from 15-30 March 1961 (P. Favour). Very common to abundant spring migrant, accidental in winter. No records fro the fall. Favour (1970): seen at Otter Cove during the gale of 27 December 1969 by Walter Flagg. Bond (19??) Transient; sometimes fairly common. Long (1951) thousands were seen during the 1950 spring migration on MDI. Sullivan (1937): transients in spring and fall. Eliot (1931): observed on MDI by Mr. And Mrs. C.R. Robbins on 25 July 1916 and 20 September 1916.
