Notes
Park Species Detail: Bartgis, 1993: Found in Washington County, Snyders Landing; state listed as Threatened. Wiegand, 2001: Currently listed in Maryland as threatened and documented in the survey area (from Sandy Hook, Maryland to District of Columbia line) during 1999-2000 field surveys. Wiegand, 1995: A new but very small population of the state-threatened Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis) was documented on The Neck in Washington County. This species is popular with plant collectors for its medicinal values and is now known from fewer than a dozen sites in Maryland. Several of these occur on limestone habitats along the Potomac River, including a large population of Goldenseal at the Snyder's Landing site that was successfully updated during this survey. Attempts during several spring surveys to relocate Goldenseal at the Dargan Bend Woods site were unsuccessful It was reported for this vicinity by Wildeman in 1978 but has not been documented since that time. One updated occurrence, (one unconfirmed occurrence) documented in the survey area from Sandy Hook West to Cumberland, Maryland., Park Species Data Source: Bartgis, 1993;TNC, 1999;Wiegand, 2001;Wiegand, 1995
