Park Species Detail: Bowes et al. (1999) documented within ANP during 1994; historically present in at least 5 of the 21 ponds in the park on Mount Desert Island; First stocked into The Bowl in 1891. Recently documented in Hodgdon Pond (August 1991, June 1993, and May 1994), Long Pond (July 1987, Mack; and fall 1990), and Round Pond (1980s, MDIFW). Stocked in The Bowl, Echo Lake, Hodgdon Pond, Long Pond, Round Pond, Seal Cove Pond, and Somes Pond. Fuller and Cooper (1946) rare in Seal Cove Pond during the summer of 1942; collected during surveys with seines in Long Pond during the summer of 1942; non-native to Maine. Batchelder (1927) Present within the park in watersheds east of Somes Sound; introduced into The Bowl on Champlain (Newport) Mountain in 1891 and has maintained itself since., Park Species Data Source: Bowes et al.
