In legacy NPSpecies Weedy value was Yes with comment: I-Rank=High/medium; Celatustrus orbiculatus alters community structure and composition by overtoping existing vegetation and shading lower layers (Dreyer 1994; Miller 2003). It is reported invasive in much of its range and listed as a noxious weed in Vermont (USDA-NRCS 2004) (NatureServe 2007). In legacy NPSpecies Pest value was Yes with comment: Identified as a priority for management in the BLRI Exotic Plant Management Plan (2006).
