Notes
Park Species Data Source: Split from Junco hyemalis per Chris Woods state CBC compiler via Cynthia Melcher email 12/12/2003 per Jeff Connor Mike Britten (5/16/2018) included additional info. This taxon is the "...is widespread in montane parts of the state in all seasons..." (Colorado Birds: Jul 2017 51(3); In the Scope: Selected Bird Subspecies of Interest in Colorado: Part 1 Tony Leukering and Steven G. Mlodinow) and the breeding taxon in Rocky Mountain NP. Alison Loar (5/16/2018): Updated to the ITIS taxon record and left the user added name as a synonym. Currently the reference uses that older taxon record.
