Fabre, 2007: See Observation evidence ./Cook and Pinnock, 1989:Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge-Intentionally introduced 1983&1984. Over 1400 were released in woodlands east of Crossbay Blvd. Recent surveys found small offspring of the released individuals./Cook and Zuzworsky, 2000: From 1983-1986, 361 juveniles and 1,443 adults were released on Ruler's Bar Hassock in Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. Through 1999, 94 progeny (1996) were noted./ Cook, 2002: Summary status through 1999 of restoration efforts at GATE-Established population at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge and status uncertain at FBF./ Cook, 2005-Present at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge (Ruler's Bar Hassock), Floyd Bennett Field and Ft. Wadsworth on Staten Island. Present at Great Kills and Miller's Field in late 1980's, but now appears extipated from these areas./; Data Source: Cook , 2005
