Long (1987) reports this species occasionally breeding on Grand Manan Island.
Russell (1984?) accidental. 2 records since 1950 (1 seen almost daily in Bar Harbor from 7 December to 27 December 1962 (C. Jellison et al.) and 1 seen in Somesville from 22 December 1 to 28 December 1963 (W. Flagg).
Favour (1970): 1 observed December 1962 on the outskirts of Bar Harbor.
Bond (1969) winter visitant on MDI; a bird was shot and wounded in Town Hill as early as 17 October (no year given; examined by J. Bond).
Palmer (1949) One taken on unstated September date at Asticou on MDI; also one seen by A. Stupka at MDI on 26 October 1934.
Bond (19??) rare winter visitor, arrives sometime in early autumn.
Tyson and Bond (1941): one taken at Asticou in September, one shot at Town Hill in October; no details given.
Sullivan (1937): Rare winter visitor; one taken 15 September 1910 and and another 1 October 1926 at Town Hill by Tyson (Pellew); one observed on Cadillac Mountain (see observation), Park Species Data Source: Witt (1997); Sullivan (1937)
