Schmidt reported capturing a spadefoot in the grasslands pitfall trap in the summer of 2002 at DETO. Smith et al. 2004 considers Schmidt 2002 as a reliable source. Smith et al (2004) report that the plains spadefoot is not found except after heavy rains in the spring or summer. Smith et al. (2004) were not on the park during heavy rains.; Data Source: Schmidt 2002
