Russell (1984?) abundant to very abundant fall migrant, winterer, and spring migrant, rare in summer. Lists some observations, but none within the park on MDI.
Favour (1970): recorded a high count of 2612 individuals on 20 December 1958 during the CBC; most of these were recorded off the Bar Island bar.
Bond (19??) Transient, not uncommon.
Sullivan (1937): rare transient and winter visitor; One killed at Hadley Point by C. Gay on 16 October 1937; also f flock of 15 observed in Bar Harbor during January 1935., Park Species Data Source: Witt (1997)
