    Park Species Detail: Coman (1987, 1981):  First Pygmy Shrew reported on MDI was found by Vernon Lunt in 1935; recently obtained specimens on the eastern side of Long Pond, near the lower Breakneck Pond (1972), near west Tremont (1978), and from Degregroire Park (1986); likely not uncommon on MDI.
