Park Species Detail: Witt (1997) reports this species in areas adjacent to the park.
Russell (1984?) Irregular in winter, absent to very common; accidental in summer.
Davis (1961) Observed or heard from his spruce/fir study plots within the park on MDI during the winter of 1958/59 and/or 1959/60.
Bond (1969) adult and young were reported here in 1911 (Bird-Lore), but the photograph was of Crossbills.
Palmer (1949): Observed on 10 and 27 August and 2 and 7 September (year?) on MDI.
Bond (19??) not uncommon winter visitor; casual in summer.
Sullivan (1937): Irregular fall and winter visitor, reported by Pepper on 10 August 1911 and 7 September 1911; other dates given; very common late winter of 1935-36.
