First seen in the region in 1987, Barrow’s Goldeneye is now a fairly common winter resident and spring and fall migrant on the Colorado River between Glen Canyon Dam and Lees Ferry, with a few records of birds lingering into early summer. Records below Lees Ferry are extremely scarce, but a female was at RM 66 on 11 Jan 1999 (Charles T. LaRue, Brian H. Dierker), and seven were below Lees Ferry on 8 Apr 1987 (Carl Tomoff).
