A casual visitor throughout the region, with eight records from fall, early winter, and spring. One was at RM 78 on 23 Oct 1987 (Lawrence E. Stevens), two were photographed near the House Rock Valley Scenic Overlook on Highway 89A on 12 Nov 2009 (Shaun Putz), one was at Phantom Ranch 14-15 Nov 1972 (Robert Cornelius), one was at Phantom Ranch 29 Nov to 2 Dec 2010 (Brian Healy, Jeremy M. White), a male was at the Tuweep Ranger Station on 30 Nov 1977 (Lois T. Haight, Kenneth J. Kingsley, Margaret Kurzius), with likely the same bird continuing on 2 Dec 1977 (Meribeth M. Riffey), two were at Phantom Ranch on 2 Dec 2007 (Matt Slater), one was in Kaibab NF, south of the park on 17 Mar 1986 (M. Kielb, S.
