(Streptopelia decaocto) [*] Eurasian Collared-Dove, an introduced species, has spread rapidly across North America. First seen in Arizona in 2000 (G. Rosenberg et al. 2007), it appeared in Grand Canyon Village on 13 Mar 2006 (Pat Brown). It is now a fairly common permanent resident of Grand Canyon Village. One was observed building a nest in the residential area of the Village in late February 2009 (Don Singer). Data source: Gatlin, BP. 2011.
